Your Voice Matters and Wild Horses Need You!
Access to information is key to effective advocacy. Advocacy must have a strong, factual, voice to break the cycle of destruction and abuse.
Many attempts have been made to hide information and actions by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wild Horse and Burro Program.
Your calls have been pivotal as we gain Congressional action to investigate, review and stop the proposed changes to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) regulations. Restricting FOIA further would allow activities like BLM to hiding critical information in the wild horse program.
Raul Grijalva, chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, has requested a public hearing into the proposed changes and a delay of four months to expand the opportunity for public input.
We must break the wheel driven by private interest and corruption that rolls over public lands, wild horses and your voice once and for all.
Please continue to keep up the pressure! You can take Action HERE.
This mailer includes several news updates to keep you informed in the fast moving public lands fight. Our field, research and legal team is working nearly around the clock after the government shutdown has come to an end. In addition to pending roundups oil and gas lease sales are being confirmed in wild horse country. We will update you on our legal actions soon.
To keep our work alive a generous donor will match all contributions through Wednesday Feb 6, the match has been dubbed “Superbowl match game!” A $10. donation turns to $20. A $100. contribution turns o $200. Can you help us unlock a $5,000 match offer and make the goal line for our wild horses?

Pine Nut Roundup Begins Wed, Feb 6
The federal government shutdown had postponed this operation. It is now scheduled to begin on Feb 6. The operation will remove 575 wild horses with no fertility control, no release back to the wild.
Do you know what C.A.W.P. is?
The Comprehensive Animal Welfare Policy (CAWP) is the only policy change to protect wild horses from abuse since the passage of the 1971 Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act became law in 1971.
As helicopters take to the air on Wednesday we will begin an interactive series on CAWP; what is is, what it isn’t, how it was created and how you can help.
Watch your email and our website for alerts.
Feb 1 was an important anniversary in that fight.
The federal shutdown delayed many of the legal filings. We have received new briefs from both the federal government and the mine. We will be filing another round to defend the “voice of the wild horses” early next week.
This litigation has deep roots into the shell game BLM play with the public on wild horses as habitat encroachment threatens wild horses. The BLM allows livestock, mining and oil and gas into wild horse habitat and simply says “no harm, no foul” as they ignore actual data to the contrary.
Our legal team is working through the weekend to answer another round of briefs in this important case.
Double Donations through Feb 6th!
Can you help us make our Super bowl weekend goal and unlock a $5,000 match?
